چکیده

The human voice is the most difficul t musical instrument to simulate convincingly. Yet a great deal of progress has been made in voice coding, the parameterization and re-synthesis of a source signal according to an assumed voice model. Source-filter models of the human voice, particularly Linear Predictive Coding (LPC), are the basis of most low-bitrate (speech) coding techniques in use today. This paper introduces a technique for coding the singing voice using LPC and prior knowledge of the musical score to aid in the process of encoding, reducing the amount of data required to represent the voice. This approach advances the singing voice closer towards a structured audio model in which musical parameters such as pitch, duration, and phonemes are represented orthogonally to the synthesis technique and can thus be modified prior to re-synthesis.

Vocal conversion from speaking voice to singing voice using STRAIGHT

A vocal conversion system that can synthesize a singing voice given a speaking voice and a musical score is proposed. It is based on the speech manipulation system STRAIGHT [1], and comprises three models controlling three acoustic features unique to singing voices: the F0, duration, and spectral envelope. Given the musical score and its tempo, the F0 control model generates the F0 contour of t...

Speech-to-Singing Synthesis System: Vocal Conversion from Speaking Voices to Singing Voices by Controlling Acoustic Features Unique to Singing Voices

Introduction: This paper introduces a speech-to-singing synthesis system, called SingBySpeaking, which can synthesize a singing voice, given a speaking voice reading the lyrics of a song and its musical score. The system is based on the speech manipulation system STRAIGHT and is comprised of four models controlling three acoustic parameters: the fundamental frequency (F0), phoneme duration, and...

Performance-driven Control for Sample-based Singing Voice Synthesis

In this paper we address the expressive control of singing voice synthesis. Singing Voice Synthesizers (SVS) traditionally require two types of inputs: a musical score and lyrics. The musical expression is then typically either generated automatically by applying a model of a certain type of expression to a high-level musical score, or achieved by manually editing low-level synthesizer paramete...

Music Information Retrieval from a Singing Voice Based on Verification of Recognized Hypotheses

Several music information retrieval (MIR) systems have been developed which retrieve musical pieces by the user’s singing voice. All of these systems use only melody information for retrieval, although lyrics information is also useful for retrieval. In this paper, we propose an MIR system that uses both melody and lyrics information in the singing voice. The MIR system verifies hypotheses outp...

Singing Voice Detection for Karaoke Application

We present a framework to detect the regions of singing voice in musical audio signals. This work is oriented towards the development of a robust transcriber of lyrics for karaoke applications. The technique leverages on a combination of low-level audio features and higher level musical knowledge of rhythm and tonality. Musical knowledge of the key is used to create a song-specific filterbank t...
